The best things in life aren’t created in an instant—they take time. That’s how we built our winery, and how we make our wines.
Pulled to California from every corner of the country, we are all united by the idea that winemaking doesn’t need frills. It needs hard-working people who understand the nuances of the vines and the complexity of a single grape. It needs exquisite attention to detail and an appreciation for the terroir.
But most of all, it needs a group of people who share a deep appreciation of nature and the beauty it brings to both wine and life. When you come to Uva Roja Wines, we greet you as guests in our home.
We welcome you to the life of the Roja and invite you to indulge in the simple joys of good friends, good scenery, and good wine.
While we were raised in vastly different environments, Richard in the dry heat of the Nevada desert and Mary in the rainy Willamette Valley, we both grew up with a deep appreciation and respect for Mother Earth.
In the late 2000s, established in our careers and living in Napa, we found ourselves yearning for the rural life of our childhoods and dreaming of land that could be passed on to our 3 children - Sara, Jonathan, and Daniel.
Together, the Garcia's found a perfect hill with stunning views, an oak wood, and a two-acre pond. Restoring land, demonstrating their love for the place, and each other by farming the land sustainably, and preserving its diverse natural habitat.
Become part of our family and visit the beautiful home we call Uva Roja Vineyards. We look forward to sharing our dream with you.
